| Issue 14: | Split patch view RPCs into two halves: cachable context and non-cachable comments | |
| Back to list |
Reported by Shawn Pearce <sop@google.com> on Tue Jan 13 18:12:17 PST 2009 Source: JIRA GERRIT-14 Affected Version: 2.0 Splitting the patch view screens into two RPCs can improve UI display performance by allowing the browser and edge-proxies to cache the larger patch content (which never changes) while fetching only the dynamic comment part from Gerrit. Most of the patch rendering code already relatively assumes this split, its just not implemented in the data and service APIs. If the project is not anonymously readable then the patch content must not be cachable, as access controls must be enforced.
