As of Gerrit 2.2.2.1, "gerrit review" makes it easy to script review scores and cover letters, but does not have a documented way for scripts to submit inline comments. When an external program -- such as a static analysis tool -- finds issues that map to particular source lines, it would be nice to be able to upload those as inline comments. (I think I have seen suggestions to use the HTTP-based RPC mechanism. If that is the preferred approach, maybe it could be documented. I would prefer an ssh-based approach; the web front-end here uses single sign-on against a database where it is hard to add non-human users.)

I concur it's a duplicate. Sorry, my searches of the open issues didn't find that one.
