What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I am accessing Gerrit installation: https://review.openstack.org/
2. I had a launchpad account which was moved to Gerrit by the OpenStack Gerrit Admins.
3. My profile information does not show my email id. I am guessing this is the reason why I am not getting notifications. However, my contact information does have my correct email id (snaiksat@cisco.com). I cannot figure out how to get my email id added to my profile.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I am not receiving email notifications for the projects which I am watching.

In order to get Gerrit accept your e-mail address 2 things are needed:
1. you need to register your e-mail address in the contact information
2. you need to confirm your e-mail address (after 1. Gerrit will send you an e-mail with a link to confirm your e-mail address, only when you have clicked on this link Gerrit accepts your e-mail address and you can receive e-mail notifications)

I think in your case the problem is that you did not register your e-mail address via the Gerrit WebUI but your account was created by the OpenStack Gerrit Admins when they migrated your launchpad account. Probably this migration was done by directly modifying the Gerrit database so that you didn't get a confirmation e-mail when your e-mail was registered. I think you can trigger Gerrit to resend this confirmation e-mail by just going to the contact information in the Gerrit WebUI and reregister your e-mail again (although it is already there). Click on the link in the confirmation e-mail and check whether this solves your problem with the e-mail notifications.

Thanks, that works! I had tried earlier and I was not getting the confirmation emails. This bug can be closed now.
