The current SSH daemon only supports public SSH keys. However, kerberos is also a viable mechanism which the Apache SSH daemon supports, so should be relatively easy to add.

The support necessary looks like adding 

setGSSAuthenticator(new GSSAuthenticator())

would do the trick, probably in initUserAuth of SSH Daemon.

It might be useful to be able to turn on/off the kerberos authentication via a property; similarly, it may be desirable to have a property to enable/disable the public key authenticator in that instance as well.
