Affected Version:

2.5

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Get a new user that has never installed gerrit before to start from scratch and install gerrit on a linux machine.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect the documentation to hold my hand a bit and guide me through the installation step by step. Instead, I find myself googling around for better sources of information on how to install gerrit, getting frustrated, coming back to gerrit docs, back to googling, etc.

Please provide any additional information below.

It would be a significant improvement to have better installation documentation.

What part of the documentation was unclear to you? Was there something you were unable to figure out from reading the installation guide[0] or the quick install guide[1]?

In revisiting things, it isn't the install guides that are lacking but more the guidance of how to perform the initial configuration. So my issues were more related to https://code.google.com/p/gerrit/issues/detail?id=1655 than installation.
