| Issue 1047: | Needs way to set "Comment" field of Public Keys | |

Affected Version: 2.2.1 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Go to SSH Public Keys 2. Click "Add Key" button What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect to see two boxes, one for the SSH Public Key and one for the Comment. Instead I see just a way to add the SSH Public Key. Please provide any additional information below. The comment field is useful as a way to differentiate the keys from each other. I have three keys, one for each of my three computers. If I want to erase one, all I have to identify them now is the key itself, which is not very meaningful to me. If I could call them "Personal Laptop" and "Work Laptop" then it would be much easier to figure out which to erase. A "Name" field would be useful, but the "Comment" field could be easily used for this purpose. There is, however, no way to set the value of that field.

Since the comment is a field in the SSH key, shouldn't you change the comment in the key and re-upload to update the comment shown in gerrit? IMO it might be confusing to update the comment in Gerrit and have it not match the key, but I guess the user would only have themselves to blame... |
