I formerly saw icons for copying to clipboard on items like Commit, Change-Id, and in the Download dropdown. They are gone after upgrading from 2.10 for me. I didn't have black squares, just missing. I'm using Chrome. I toggled the flash clipboard helper preference off and on, and now things are working for me. Thanks.

I see this issue has been closed but I am still experiencing it on Gerrit 2.11.3. I have tried in both Chrome and Firefox in both a normal and a private/incognito window, none successfully render the copy to clipboard icons (neither next to Commit, Change-Id nor in the Download dropdown). What I see in Chrome are very small rectangles with a black outline, and in Firefox I see small squares containing 1,0's with a black outline. I'm running Firefox 41.0 and Google Chrome 45.0.2454.99 (64-bit). I'm sorry but I don't see a "use flash clipboard helper" preference in Firefox, can you tell me where it is? Thanks, Tom.

Btw, I am happy to send screenshots if that helps. Tom.

Ping. Can I please request that this issue be reopened? It is clearly still a problem, albeit not that serious. Certainly based on the issue which has just been closed as a duplicate of this one it is not just me that can reproduce the problem. Thanks, Tom.

+1 Still a real thing. Gerrit 2.11.4 fresh install, not an upgrade. On my Corporate IT Windows (tm) VM using Chrome, I see a little black clipboard when I interact with the Gerrit site. On this computer running Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS, with chromium 45.0.2454.101 and working flash version 14.0.0.125, I get a small, slim black rectangle box, that looks like css padding around a missing image. On that same system, going to the Adobe Shockwave test page shows that it isn't working, even though Flash is. So, does this issue exist: yes. Now, you could argue that it's not a bug in Gerrit since it's a "design feature to use Shockwave." Which here in 2015 I don't think is really an argument anyone can back up. Anyway, Linux and shockwave don't hang, and since this tool is used by a lot of Linux users/developers, I'd guess it'd be good to remove the shockwave dependency by default. |
