Should the JGTICuratorialUnit contain taxon and location information if its supposed to be used for a Joint GeoTaxonomic Index? Currently its purely a count

In that case can there be more than one JGTIUnit per eml instance then (as we currently have in the schema) ?

I think that jgtiCuratorialUnit should be allowed to repeat, each specifying a jgtiUnitType with a choice of a choice of jgtiUnits or jgtiUnitRange.

thats what it does. Im just wondering how its intended to be used. Can you give an example of repeated units? Is it sth like this? 13.132 specimens 2877 alcohol flasks 123 drawers of pinned insects

Yes, that's my understanding from the requirements we gathered - here are some examples: <jgtiCuratorialUnit> <jgtiUnitType>sheets</jgtiUnitType> <jgtiUnitRange> <beginRange>1000</beginRange> <endRange>1200</endRange> </jgtiUnitRange> </jgtiCuratorialUnit> <jgtiCuratorialUnit> <jgtiUnitType>skins</jgtiUnitType> <jgtiUnits uncertaintyMeasure="100">5000</jgtiUnits> </jgtiCuratorialUnit> <jgtiCuratorialUnit> <jgtiUnitType>alcohol jars</jgtiUnitType> <jgtiUnits uncertaintyMeasure="100">10000</jgtiUnits> </jgtiCuratorialUnit> I presume we should keep the uncertainty measure even if the exact number is known. Should it be set to 0 in that case? |
