Issue 921: Rethink event end time inclusivity/exclusivity
Status:  Released

I am fully aware that this topic has been reported many times in a similar fashion.
The difference this time is that I would like to suggest a solution that'd make everyone happy (I hope so) about displaying events ending on 00:00 as spanning over additional day or not.
Would it be possible to include setting like:
boolean calendar.endingAtMidnightSpansToNextDay
that'd control the aforementioned behaviour?

An event ending on 00:00 *does* span over multiple days as 00:00 belongs to the "next" day.

That is true. Nevertheless there are people that would prefer an event starting at 00:00 20.04.2011 and ending at 00:00 21.04.2011 to be displayed as spanning over one day only.
It was mentioned in one of issues regarding this topic that there is a discussion going on whether events ending at 00:00 should span over next day or not. I'm not trying to convince anyone one way or the other - rather just advocating introduction of a setting that'd allow either option.

Imho making this an option would cause more confusion than it'd be usefull. A clear line how things are handled is the better way.

In my application I'm just mapping user made dates to RFC standarized dates and this is working fine.

On your suggestion... only Adam can make a decision. ;)
