I'd like to see you extend this to include a Week View and Day View of
events. Day View would be blocked out in 15 minute increments so that
events could be dragged around to any time block starting on :00, :15, :30
or :45.

this might be better suited as a completely different plugin. got to think about this
one, would be a big undertaking. i know someone working on a similar problem, will
put you in touch w/ their project when they get further.

I would also love this feature and have see it done with moo tools:
http://dansnetwork.com/mootools/events-calendar/
http://www.moonkiki.com/moonkiki/moogenda/

but i dont like the look and feel of the second, and i prefer your calendar... lol so
please let me know if you or anyone has another take on it.

Thanks!

Hi,
While you're at it, I will be interested by a yearly view as well :)
For now I have a workaround that consist in displaying 12 month calendars but this
has shortcomings:
 * Have to do the prev/next year myself
 * Makes 12 calls to the event source

Actually it would also be interesting if there was an option enabling users to switch
from yearly-monthly-weekly-daily views

Hello, sorry I've been MIA, had a really busy past 2 months moving cities and starting
a new job. Also, the work on week/day view has taken much longer than expected. The
notion of different "views" and switching between them has forced me to do a lot of
refactoring. Things are finally starting to come together.

I have posted a preview of 1.3 at http://arshaw.com/media/fc13/ please take a look at
it. The real release should be here in about 1 week.

You will see that the demo has two different types of week/day views: the "simple"
(events run horizontally, like the month view) and "agenda" (there are time slots where
events run vertically). I would be interested to hear what most people prefer, as it
will effect whether i package the "agenda" stuff as a separate plugin or not.

thank you to everyone for being patient and for your support!

Currently i`m using jquery week-calendar for the week agenda part,
but I would love to have the agenda feature and the moth view feature from a single
jquery project.
+1 from me.

Wow! I have no words, everything is much better than I expected:)

PS I "agenda", as this opportunity will be in demand.

The Agenda View is superb! I really like it. It's almost exactly what I'm looking for.
It will still need the ability to open/edit events and to create new events... but
that's minor compared to what you've done so far.

Q: What happens if you have two, three or four events in the same one-hour period? Do
they draw beside each other? Or on top of each other?

thanks everyone for the input,

to clarify something, by saying i'd make the agenda stuff a separate plugin, what i
meant was, "should i include the JS in a separate file?" There would still be
seamlessness between the views.

brilang,
thank you! when events are during the same time, they are drawn beside each other.
You can drag&drop to try it out.

i'm still working hard on the release. b/c of the rewrite, ive had to do a ton of
testing on the js and modifications of the docs. this is taking a while, almost done
with this.

also, something that might be a minor disappointment... i'm only going to release the
"simple" views for 1.3, then follow it up shortly after with the "agenda" views. there
was simply too much new code to release both at the same time.

thank you everyone for being patient. its been a lot of hard work, but this next
release will be great b/c it paves the way for many new features. its coming together
very well, just a few more days...

ps- i've updated the trunk w/ my progress

hello everyone! 1.4 is out and it has 2 new views: agendaWeek and agendaDay.
I'm closing this thread, b/c the basics this feature are complete, but if you have any bug
reports or feature requests concerning the agenda views, please start a new issue. thank you
all for your patience (and for putting up with my grossly incorrect eta's). hope you like it.
