Describe the enhancement.
At the bottom of the massive General Configuration page is an option to put
a button image link to a page run by the Free Software Foundation about
their beliefs about a certain technology. That option should cease to exist.

Why do you think this enhancement should be implemented?
Software should be absolutely neutral in terms of beliefs. I am not saying
that the FSF's message is right or wrong, I'm saying that the existence of
this option shows that your software has a strong political message, and
this will turn off potential users. How would you like it if you found out
that your favorite Linux distribution suddenly started promoting a specific
political party?
If people want to link to the FSF's page about DRM, they should manually
add the link in like everyone else. Otherwise, you have to add in every
single page about beliefs to be fair.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Whatever the Administration demo is running.

Please provide any additional information below.

your reasons
(12:14:05 PM) Techokami: I'll be shot down for being pro-DRM or something
(12:14:07 PM) Techokami: I can tell
(12:14:12 PM) Sir Gallantmon: probably not
(12:14:25 PM) Sir Gallantmon: like I said earlier
(12:14:36 PM) Sir Gallantmon: the Gen Config page is the oldest page in
Enano's Admin panel
(12:14:47 PM) Sir Gallantmon: that link has been there since the very first
version of the software

No, I don't think you're pro-DRM because you suggested that we get rid of the
anti-DRM campaign.

I also think that more projects need to be not just Free Software, but _proudly_ free
software. Part of the reason Enano was started was to protest the possessiveness that
authors have over their CMSes, always jealous for attention and links back. Maybe
that's why Enano has stayed small: maybe people are removing the "powered by" link. I
don't really care. The point is that I'm a very adamant Free Software evangelist and
very liberal about freedom in the area of intellectual property, and I see a need to
promote awareness of what Free Software is all about because a lot of people don't know.

We're also being political by using a Free Software license and not hiding it. A lot
of CMSes bury the "we're open source!" thing in their footer, possibly in a
"copyright" link. We wear it way out on our sleeves on the public website. If you
have the "powered by Enano" button turned on, it shows "proudly free software" when
you hover over it. Do people flame Debian for being equally as strong in its support
for Free Software? Of course not, it defines what the project is. Same goes for
Enano: I wouldn't develop it as closed source no matter what the potential monetary
benefits are.

Finally, the Defective By Design button defaults to off. It's the last option in the
config panel. Does it really get in your way? I don't accuse you of supporting DRM
but I do think projects have the right to support what they want, especially when
they do all they can to stay out of your way. If you don't like it, ignore it.

View it as something in the general interest of the public, not as a political
agenda. If someone becomes aware of how DRM is screwing them over because they
clicked the button on an Enano website, then great. If not, I'm not going to stop
developing the project because some hidden political agenda has failed.
