What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. load page -- http://www.stjohnhistoricalsociety.org/Maps-3D2.htm

(If possible, please attach an example HTML file, that works when copied
into the dynatree/doc/ folder.)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Setting child attribute "select:true" should fire a onSelect event
(bpt in Maps3d2.js/onSelect: never hit)


What version of the product are you using?  0.5.2
On what operating system and browser?  WinXp latest Firefox browser

This is intentionally: see  issue 91 
As a workaround, the onPostInit event could be used to gereate the required events.

MAy be a new function like tree.reselect() would be helpful there.

As of 2014 Dynatree is feature frozen.
Please have a look at Fancytree (sequel of DynaTree 1.x): chances are good that the problem was resolved / the requested featuer is already implemented.
Please open a new issue there otherwise:
