Robot Trouble

Serious procedural programming game

A Computer Games Development (DJCO) class project in Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP).
The objective is to create a serious game that teaches a subject that we already studied in university.

Abstract

"Robot Trouble" is a 2D game designed for single player. The game takes place in a maze that is full of obstacles. A robot with human feelings is supposed to escape it in order to find true love. He is navigated by the player of the game. The navigation is conducted by ordering functions in a sequence, then compiled and executed on the robot. The player must take into consideration the time left, and power available of the robot when "writing" the code. After finishing the all the levels with different difficulty the robot will be rewarded for finding his beloved robot Robotina, and the player will know the concept and basics of procedural programming.
