"Is this right. I feel that the definition is a bit inexact. Perhaps an example(s) should be added.

“An identifier for the Organism instance (as opposed to a particular digital record of the Organism). May be a globally unique identifier or an identifier specific to the data set.”

Eg:
catalogNumber – 72549
organismID - ROM:Birds:72549
associatedOrganisms - mate of ROM:Birds:72548"

All properties in dwc: have examples now. Not so with dwciri:, but that is much more challenging and I won't include that in this issue. Closing.
