Cathedral is a board game that I found on a trip to New Zealand. It has a lot of similar concepts to chess but is a completely different game.

  • Both chess and cathedral have no hidden moves, each player knows every possible move of the other player (no dice, no shuffled cards, etc).
  • There is a limited number of pieces and no expansions to the game will come out. Each player has 14 pieces plus 1 starting piece.

The maker of the game has an online notation that can be found at http://www.cathedral-game.co.nz/onlineplay.htm.

Im interested in Computer Science and am using this project as a way to learn new programming languages.

  1. Build a UI in HTML5 Canvas
  2. Build a Java version of the game for which moves are avaliable
  3. Build a best move interpreter in erlang
  4. Find relationships between moves in neo4j
