Original issue 101 created by searsandrew on 2011-10-14T06:00:11.000Z:

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Missions '...Into the Fire' & 'On The Rocks' stutter worse as gameplay continues. Not sure if this is framerate? Starfield would not shift with movement. Also, in On the Rocks, the really fast green enemy became impossible to target with ship jerking. Had to rely on AI to kill enemy targets.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Smooth movement of ships & background star field.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Antares 0.4.2 on OSX 10.7.2

I found a memory leak. Can you try a nightly build to see if it's improved?

Happens in any mission anywhere just based on how long the game has been running (not sure if leaving in game menu will also cause it). Seems to be very correlated to how long the game has been running and the frame rate just becomes slower and slower with no leveling out.

Antares 0.6.0 is released. I didn't fix any other memory leaks (which is what that sounds like) but performance is generally better so it's worth a try.

I'm closing out this bug since 0.4.2 is old news at this point. If the issue persists, please open a new one against 0.7.2 (which I'm in the process of releasing).
