Everyone -- its a 1:50 chance google is going to implement this into the 6P.
This feature removal made me look for alternatives. I saw that flux now works with rooted phones.
Rooted my phone and installed flux. Now 100% satisfied. If you are able to root your phone, this is your best bet, don't waste any more time burning your eyes out at night.

rooting should not be necessary for this kind of feature. rooting is also increasingly breaking a number of apps (including android pay) which is not a viable alternative.
if google wants to try to force users into a pixel then that's fine, i can deal without night mode but google will not be my first choice for phones in the future.

Today I ran into the same issue as our App couldn't establish SSL connections with Android 7 devices (below 7 everything works fine). Stacktrace is same as above. When the device connects web server that serving ssl protocol (TLSv1/SSLv3), it fails connecting server.
Below versions (android 6.x, android 5.x and so on) don't seem to have this problem.
