videobrowser - issue #97
Allow option of preferring folder.PNG file when both .JPG and .PNG files exist
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Replace folder.JPG file with folder.PNG
- MB will then begin using the folder.PNG file instead of folder.JPG
- Place another folder.jpg in the same folder
- MB reverts to using the folder.jpg instead of continuing to use the folder.PNG file
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect that MB would prefer to use the .PNG format if both files existed. This is based on the fact that .PNG is a superior format and it supports transparency. Instead MB goes back to using the folder.JPG.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using the latest version 2.1 on 32-bit Vista w/SP1
Please provide any additional information below.
This issue was discovered when I attempted to use the Starkcovers tool to create custom folder.png covers. Starkcovers worked fine with creating the covers. However, I also use MyMovies to catalog my movie collection and it does not provide the option of disabling the auto-creation of folder.jpg files. After a while MyMovies will recreate the folder.jpg files which MB reverts to using instead of the still existing folder.png files.
Here are some links to discussion on this isuue from the Starkcovers thread:
