Eclipse Java chat system without administration or server

Vayala is a multipurpose chat client for developers. It offers a platform and an easy to use Eclipse plugin. Based on multicast technology, each client is automatically connected to one network of chat client without a central server or much configuration or installation effort. You add the Eclipse view, and you are connected to your collegues. In addition to basic chat functionality, you can also exchange files, graphics and much more.

NOTE: Currently in development. Not yet published any stable release. Nevertheless we are publishing some preview versions from time to time.

In addition we provide some standalone clients. You can download them in the download section here. It is just a ZIP file, extract it to a local folder and start the executable inside. No installer available so far.

This screenshot show Vayala plugin running inside Eclipse on Ubuntu 7.04. You can see the bubble information in the tray. It will display new messages also if your view in Eclipse is not visible at the moment.
