snippely - issue #9

Snippely opens but does not run

Posted on May 13, 2008 by Massive Rhino

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. open app via link 2. AIR Introspector throws general internal error 3. App did work after install. Left for a week or so came back and it doesn't work any more

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expected: Application to work | What I see: ADOBE AIR Introspector

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 1.0 Win XP Pro SP2

Please provide any additional information below. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, to no avail...

Error that Introspector throws: [app:/application.html][09:04:10]Error: general internal error -Error: general internal error errorId 0 getStackTrace function Function (){} length 0 line 156 message "general internal error" name "Error" sourceURL "app:/scripts/ar/art.air.js" stackTrace [Array 12]

Same in XP SP3. Mine worked after install. It then asked me to update (1.5.6 I believe), and after the update it would show in the taskbar but no window. I can maximize but all I see is the text for Groups and New Group.

Same here - it worked for a couple of weeks and now it comes up in the taskbar but it won't open the actual window. Which is superfrustrating as I had a lot of important code snippets in it. Have to junk it all now. Unusable.

I used to have the same problem running under windows and the solution I've found is:

  1. Open Snippely. It will show as opened on task bar but you won't see it.
  2. Press alt+space on your keyboard.
  3. Chose the "move" option and with your mouse, move the cursor back to the desktop.

Now I don't even know if this is a Snippely problem anymore.

I am having the same problem, Adobe AIR Inspector opens up and throws up an error:

[app:/application.html][21:32:30] Error: general internal error

Had a similar problem, and the "move" trick would not work, so I selected "Maximize" which made it into a full screen view, then just dragged the window where I wanted it.

Thank you 5th and 9th comment. Working great. Actually Snippely window automatically moved to top left corner of my screen. That Caused the problem. Thanks one again. Great software.
