macfuse - issue #401

Safari crashes ever since MacFuse is installed

Posted on Nov 24, 2008 by Quick Bird

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Install MacFuse 2. (optional:) install NTFS - 3G 3. (optional:) uninstall NTFS - 3G

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I can write to my Bootcamp partition. Bootcamp partition no longer appears on System Prefs > Startup Disk Safari browser crashes in at least two minutes after launch even when idle with a web page open ever since MacFuse 1.7 is installed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? v.1.7 on Mac OS X 10.5.5

Please provide any additional information below.

For the Startup Disk prefpane, see Q 3.2 in http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/wiki/FAQ Please report ntfs-3g issues to the ntfs-3g web site.

As for Safari crashing, that has nothing to do with MacFUSE.

You are right about Safari. Bad coincidence. Apple seems to have fixed the Safari issue with 3.2.1 update. Sorry for the mislead.
