eee-ubuntu-support - issue #7

wifi on/off not working due to "other" hotkey..

Posted on Jan 27, 2008 by Grumpy Camel

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. EEEPC white as sold in Germany

To got wifi+blue on/off I had to change: /etc/acpi/events/eee-wifi-on event=hotkey ATKD 00000010 and in /etc/acpi/events/eee-wifi-off event=hotkey ATKD 00000011

So we have foreach two ACPI keys in wildlife around, should add both...

your asus_acpi module needs to be patched with modules/asus_acpi_hotkey_conflict_eeepc.patch to prevent conflicts with other acpid scripts.

Ok, it seams, that it has loaded from /lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/updates/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 112076 2007-12-22 10:05 asus_acpi.ko md5sum asus_acpi.ko 762f2186dd42087f5a0b2eabe7ff8143 asus_acpi.ko Most likely from the original eeexubuntu r3 installation..

Reverted the scripts back, but now it's disfunctional. I don't even get a log message in /var/log/acpid for that key. (But Fn-F1 sleep is working, and here I see logs).
