What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Nice transparency either by software or via compiz, instead black shapes instead of full transparency and white background for partial transparency.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 2.1 on eeexubuntu 7.10

Please provide any additional information below. I think it's a known probleme, and have no idea on the complexity of the task, at least complete transparence support (like a gif) would allow to give more interresting shape to images. partial transparency would be fantastic :D.
