Firefox: 3.6.16 OS: Ubuntu 10.10 Firebug: 1.6.2
I didn't even know that Closure Inspector was supposed to generate some kind of message, I just installed it, was perplexed why nothing seemed to happen, then discovered this issue after a bit of research.
That Closure Inspector doesn't work with firebug 1.6 is a bit of a pain, after all, version 1.6 was released November 29, 2010.
That Closure Inspector doesn't even generate a message saying that it won't work is a bug.

Posted on May 3, 2011 by Happy LionI verified this as well, Closure Inspector fails silently with Firebug 1.6 (no error, appears enabled). Downgrading to Firebug 1.5.4 made the Source Mapping tab appear.
- Firefox 3.6.13
- Firebug 1.5.4
- Closure Inspector 0.9.5
