burg - issue #2

Weird colors.

Posted on May 7, 2010 by Quick Giraffe

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Do not know 2. 3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is normal colors.

This is what I get when it's loading Ubuntu and the likes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YaQzgygClM

Kind of reminds me of the bug that alot of people using windows get when they try to play old dos games without using dosbox. Like so : img337.imageshack.us/i/speixv0.png/

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

20100425-1 (lucid) Ubuntu lucid lynx.

Please provide any additional information below.

This, btw, never happened before I installed burg.

System: Dual Boot - Lucid Lynx 10.04 and Windows 7 Same version of Burg as above

I have a similar problem except mine gets even more glitchy and then stalls on boot. I have to go in through recovery mode to even get access to the linux partition. That said, the windows partition boots fine other than the colors.

The only way for me to solve the problem is reinstalling grub on hd0 but that isn't a real fix. Any ideas?

Perhaps you can try adding GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=text to /etc/default/burg and use update-burg to generate a new configuration file.

That fixed it for me! Thanks :)

This should be fixed in the latest version, no need to add GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX.
