Hello I used and loved the product, will you be updating it for io4.2.1? 2. 3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Please provide any additional information below.

Posted on Nov 30, 2010 by Swift OxI don't have 4.2.1 on any device, and 4.1.2 never existed, but as far as I know, BTstack GPS works on 4.2.1 if you update libstatusbar. You can also install the latest version of BTstack which enforces that too.

Posted on Nov 30, 2010 by Massive ElephantSorry for the spelling. I use BTStack keyboard/mouse and it crashes in 4.2.1 on iPad.

Posted on Nov 30, 2010 by Swift Oxthe BTstack Mouse doesn't work on 4.2.1. Can you send me (iphone@ringwald.ch) a crash log for SpringBoard? You can install CrashReporter to get one.

Posted on Dec 1, 2010 by Helpful BearHi Matthias.. i finaly tracked your project down. I've been a big fan of this mouse support many thanks for your hard work.
I too have noticed that ibtstack 1.0-25562 doesn;t connect in ios 4.2.1 on 16gb ipad wifi. I'm using a generic microsoft notebook mouse 5000 and it worked fine before the 4.2.1 update.
Also can you tell me if the mouse will stay connected and reconnect after long periods apart from the device? or do i have to repair / connect it each day?
i'm happy to forward any logs you need (im not sure how to get them out of springboard however)
thanks heaps

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Happy ElephantHi, I read this thread after 6 long hours of frustrating hacking to get the BTmouse to work again after upgrading to 4.2.1. Sorry to say I had no luck :-(
Any briljant gestures are more than welcome!

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Swift Ox(just set the issue correctly).
I'm considering buying a spare device for debugging this, but didn't make up my mind.
First question: what does not work actually? Does it crash? Is there just no mouse? If something crashed, please attach a crash report here. You can install "CrashReporter" tool which makes finding those reports easy.

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Helpful BearOk,
the crash happens during the pairing
I turn my mouse on and get it flashing looking for pairing.
I fire up mouse on the ipad and the device appears in the list.
I click the device and the throbber appears. My mouse then stops flashing (as though it's paired) and the application crashes the whole ipad. After a period of time it's reloaded back to the home screen. I can't click home or even press the power button i just have to wait for it to reload.
When it comes back it's unpaired etc.. you get the idea.
Also i've tried this with microsoft bluetooth mouse and apple magic mouse to same result.
See attached for error log i'm not sure when i'm looking for but this is one log from crashreporter. let me know if you need more
cheers

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Swift Oxhey that's a good crash report :) It shows Apple's BTServer crashing, which is completely unrelated to BTstack, BTstack Mouse and Mouse Support.
Please update BTstack to 0.2-975, it should lead to an update of MobileSubstrate, SpringBoardAccess, and libstatusbar... and try again & report here.

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Helpful Bearpardon my ignorance but if it aint in cydia how do i do this?
Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Swift OxBTstack package is marked as "Developer". Open Cydia, click the "Manage" tab at the bottom, then click on the Preferences in the upper left. Choose "Developer" there and then use search tab to find and check version for BTstack, MobileSubstrate, and libstatusbar. Please report and update from there.

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Helpful Bearbtstack 0.2-975 mobilesubstrate 0.9.3367-1 listatusbar 0.9.1 just tried reinstalling those components still same issue, but they were up to date i believe.
Interestingly enough i have a similar issue with the ipad crashing when i move the mouse onto a synergy client install (might be separate issue) but given it's a mouse issue seems to be relevant.

ok. than we need another crash log. The one before, from yesterday, shows a problem that occurred with older version of libstatusbar. There should be report for SpringBoard crashing.

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Helpful Bearunfortunantly i cant get any new logs after a crash... when it comes back up the latest crash is the logs from yesterday.... strange

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Swift Oxcan you install "syslogd" package, reboot, and crash again? there might be some info in the syslog (available vie CrashReporter or just /var/log/syslog)

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Swift Oxthanks for the log. besides BTstack Mouse not working, it looks like you have another problem as well (which might be related). ok the plan is: a) I just ordered an iPod Touch 4 and will try myself, b) I will ask others if your "crash pattern" - in the syslogd file you see more or less everything crashing which gets into touch with MobileSubstrate. This should not happen.

Posted on Dec 2, 2010 by Swift Ox@blake.rsdesign the log says that you did reboot without using redsnow to enable the JB at all. Please try agin, this time with redsnow on. (start Cydia to see if you're JB)

Posted on Dec 4, 2010 by Swift OxI got my iPod Touch 4 and updated to 4.2.1. MouseSupport crashes when the simulated mouse pointer is enabled (after connecting in BTstack Mouse, or starting Veency with MouseSuppor).
I've removed parts of it's code and it's basically working again (the don't have mouse pointer click on itself hack is not needed on ipt4 it seems, bt I've taken the "don't go into indle" code out, too).
If you're on 4.2.1, you can delete /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/MouseSupport.dylib and replace it with the attached one. It will be active after the next respring.
I'll look into a real solution which might involve adding MouseSupport to my new HID-Support project at http://code.google.com/p/hid-support/ when I have some spare time.

Posted on Dec 4, 2010 by Helpful HippoOk, exact same problem here. As I am not a developer, how can I delete Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/MouseSupport.dylib and replace it with the attached one. is it too complicated? Thanks...

Posted on Dec 5, 2010 by Swift Ox@alaa.wakil There are many UI tools for this, eg. iFile on iOS or Cyberduck (over SFTP). I won't write a tutorial on that but rather look to provide a clean solution. This means there will be updated packages of MouseSupport and/or BTstack Mouse

Posted on Dec 8, 2010 by Helpful WombatThanks for all your support. Your efforts will soon make 4.2.1 usable again. I will wait for the actual release. It's like waiting for Christmas.

Posted on Dec 10, 2010 by Swift OxI released an update to the Mouse Support package which makes it work on 4.2.1. However, I got one report claiming it wouldn't work on 4.1 anymore. I could not verify that but it's fine on 4.0 and 4.2.1.

Posted on Dec 12, 2010 by Massive DogHi I have an iPad 4.2.1 but in Cydia it doesn't allow me to install it. Gives me the Note can't install due to required dependencies. I've tried BTstack and Wiimote. Am I doing something wrong?

Posted on Feb 12, 2011 by Helpful ElephantI'm experiencing the same problems as the poster in comment 36: I am using an 16GB WiFi-only iPad, clicks seem to be ignored in the regions somewhere near the home button, no matter the orientation.
A clear example would be in the Settings app - in default portrait orientation (home button at bottom) some elements near the bottom of the screen cannot be selected. However, if a click was started from outside the unclickable region and the cursor is dragged across the region, the cursor continues to track and the currently dragged item continues to be dragged.
In landscape orientation with the home button on the left, the left pane of the master-detail view cannot be dragged.
In landscape orientation with the home button on the right, the left pane of the master-detail view can be dragged as per normal, but some of the selections in the right pane cannot be selected.
However, there are no problems with selection on the SpringBoard, and this issue arises only in applications. (both 3rd party as well as Apple apps)
I am using the Apple Magic Mouse.

Posted on Feb 17, 2011 by Helpful GiraffeI am looking for the btstack for my new 4.21 iPad. I stumbled upon this page by accident. Can anyone give a heads up on an approximate time when it might be available, or is not going to work on this version of the iPad? Thanks for any insight on this

Posted on Feb 17, 2011 by Swift Oxhi. I'm currently working on Celeste (OBEX) and a complete re-write of the BTstack Keyboard package. I'll add mouse support to the Keyboard package and call it BTstack Keyboard++ which will then support keyboard and mouse input, also from both in parallel. Stay tuned.
