What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Run either SVN trunk, or Ubuntu-packaged ardesia-1.1-1

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: Toolbar on the right of the screen contains a bunch of buttons to control the program.

Actual: Toolbar window is drawn, but has no content at all; it's solid gray.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Ubuntu 13.10 amd64.

package ardesia-1.1-1, or SVN trunk as of today.

XFCE desktop (I installed the regular Ubuntu install with Unity, but have since installed xubuntu-desktop to get XFCE. I've also got various Kubuntu and Gnome packages installed, but I logged into XFCE.

Please provide any additional information below.

If I check out tag ardesia-1.0 from SVN and build that, everything works fine.
