Could you please do the biggest favor to all of the hackintosh community. Could you please port your patch to macintosh. I am begging you. I have bought ten wifi cards and I just now found out that the thing to blame for none of them working was my iopcifamily.kext. Please help another desperate user from a different operating system with the same problem:)

I'm not porting acer-wmi to Mac for a number of reasons:

1) I don't have a Mac or Mac OS X (and I'd be more interested in running Linux on a Mac, rather than trying to run Mac OS X on Linux)

2) Porting acer-wmi isn't enough, you'd need to port the wmi driver as well.

If someone else wants to do the work, I'm more than happy to provide pointers on how to do it, but I don't have the time, resources or inclination to do it myself.
