March 5: Mentoring organizations can begin submitting applications to Google

March 12: Mentoring organization application deadline

March 13: Google program administrators review organization applications

March 14: List of accepted mentoring organizations published on code.google.com; student application period opens

March 26: Student application deadline; applications must be received by 5:00 PM Pacific time (00:00 UTC March 27, 2007)

Interim Period: Mentoring organizations review and rank student proposals; where necessary, mentoring organizations may request further proposal detail from the student applicant

April 10: All mentors must signed up and all student proposals matched with a mentor by 00:00 Pacific Time / 07:00 UTC

IRC Meeting to resolve any outstanding duplicate accepted students in #duplicate-resolution on Slashnet (3 PM Pacific / 22:00 UTC)

April 11: List of accepted student applications published on code.google.com by 5:00 PM Pacific time (00:00 UTC April 12, 2007)

Interim Period: Students learn more about their project communities

May 28: Students begin coding for their GSoC projects; Google begins issuing initial student payments

Interim Period: Mentors give students a helping hand and guidance on their projects

July 9: Mentors begin midterm evaluations; students can begin submitting mid-term surveys (12 noon Pacific/19:00 UTC)

July 16: Midterm mentor survey deadline; Google begins issuing mid-term student payments provided student survey is on file (12 noon Pacific/19:00 UTC)

July 30: Midterm survey deadline for students

August 20: Mentors, students and organization administrators begin submitting final evaluations to Google (12 noon Pacific/19:00 UTC)

August 31: Final evaluation deadline (12 noon Pacific/19:00 UTC); Google begins issuing student and mentoring organization payments

September 3: Students can begin submitting required code samples to Google
