XWiki is a wiki platform which offers both a generic platform for developing collaborative applications using the wiki paradigm and products developed on top of it. It comes with several products and extensions to help the user with that. One such extension is XEclipse .It is an Eclipse plug-in that allows the user to edit, view, save or delete XWiki pages directly from within the Eclipse IDE. XEclipse itself was created as a GSOC 2007 project.

The main idea of the XWiki Syntax validation, coloring and suggestion in XEclipse project is to provide the following vale added service to the XEclipse.

syntax validation
syntax coloring
suggestions of tags and Apis

Since XEclipse support it's own wiki syntax, basic HTML ,velocity and groovy ,the final XEclipse version should support the above features in a mix of all the supporting syntaxes. This will speed up the process of creating wiki pages and will become more user friendly. This addition will also help to create syntax corrected wiki pages.
