Beacon is a WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) Editor for GuideXML documents which was developed as a Google Summer of Code project in 2006. But the tool is still not widely used. I plan to work on the existing codebase of Beacon and improve various aspects of the tool to make it more attractive in terms of functionality and usability for the Gentoo Documentation Team. This will be achieved by UI spruce-ups, rewrites of certain features and making it more deployable.
