Currently, Tor lacks the ability to easily set up test networks to automatically test new versions as well as inter-version compatibility. The planned tool should provide ways to spawn new public Tor nodes or an entire private network. The status of each node will be monitored and controlled by one computer, and it will be possible to launch or shutdown Tor nodes remotely, either via direct control or scripted. The network connections should be encrypted for security, and the testing process must in no way harm the privacy of Tor users.
The application should be easily extendable, so modules that, for example, allow automatic compilation can be added, as well. |
