I propose to contribute to the University of Michigan's Center for the Study of Complex Systems' I-SPOC project. I will focus on creating functional SPOCs (Scientific Paper with Open Communication) and adding them to the I-SPOC library, along with their complete documentation. Time permitting, I will also contribute MOREs (MOdel Replication and Extensions) to one or more of the papers for which I create SPOCs. The purpose of this project is to further the use of agent-based modeling (ABM) in the social sciences, by (a) encouraging the creative exploration of existing ABMs, (b) facilitating their replication, testing, and improvement, and (c) promoting extensions while minimizing the risk of repetition by cataloging existing extensions. The candidate papers for my project all center on the dynamics that underlie the characteristics and behaviors of human populations.
