For each qualification you undertake, you will be required to demonstrate examples of your development work, evidence of community participation, provide occupational references, and pass the qualification exam. Scores in each of these areas will be combined to create your overall qualification score. A minimum of 3000 of the 5000 possible points must be maintained in order to remain qualified. The Google Qualified Developer program requires that you demonstrate your eligibility in several different qualification areas. In addition to passing the qualification exam, you must provide examples of your development work, evidence of community participation, and references from clients with whom you have worked.
You will be given a score in each area. In order to become a Google Qualified Developer, you will be required to achieve and maintain at least 3000 out of a possible 5000 points on your Google Qualified Developer score.

The Qualification Exam covers general knowledge about the API and issues specific to creating applications with it (check the Study Guide for detailed information on specific exams). The exam consists of 50 questions for a total possible score of 2000 points towards your Google Qualified Developer score.
