SSRN

Introduction

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences.

Details

  • Important: you should be logged in to take best advantage of this translator since much of the citation information is taken from an EndNote export that is only available to users who have logged in.
  • The SQL code for the Zotero translator is here: SSRN-translator.sql.
  • Creates a "Journal Article" item.
  • Supported fields: "Title", "Author", "Abstract", "Series Title", "Language", "Publication", "Volume", "Pages" (partial), "Date"
  • SSRN's "Suggested Citation" appears in "Notes" tab.
  • Any keywords are saved as tags.
  • Automatic attachment of the PDF download is not supported (SSRN's method for downloading PDFs makes this difficult to do in Zotero).

This translator needs help. Even logged in, everything except the title -- including the date -- ends up in the Publication field. Publication is meant for the journal name only. If the EndNote? data is this course-grained, you might as well parse the cite details out of the page, so that the translator will work without logging into the site. If login is required, the translator should not return an icon unless the user actually is logged in.

The latest version of Zotero 2 seems to have some bugs in it: publication dates have an extra space between the parenthesis, e.g. ( 1993), and "last visited date?" appears in parenthesis for all publications with associated website rather than cites to weblinks. Any patches?
