This is a COPY of Issue 1318: Admin is regularly hacked and used for spam links , filed on Google Code before the project was moved on Github.

Original description

Our yourls admin panel is hacked once a week and used for spam link sharing. We change the password, blacklist the IP addresses and yet it continues to happen over and over again. We've blocked 20+ IP addresses at this point. 

We're using v1.5.1

What can we do to protect our system?
