Check out our YouTube channelVisit our booth and attend our YADT talkYADT is a next generation data center deployment and system management tool that is based on two central components:
YADT lets you model your data center landscape in a simple, human readable yaml format. The packaging of software and its configuration, the definition of package dependencies, the definition of service dependencies, and some basic conventions are the YADT model. With these information, YADT can deploy any changes to your software and your configuration to any number of hosts. Of course YADT will also deploy all updates to your OS, you can even seperate these OS updates from your application and configuration updates. And YADT assures that the updates and service restarts are done in the correct order over your complete data center. YADT does this by analyzing the service and package dependencies, grouping dependent services and hosts together into "chuncks". It then rolles the update as a sequential wave over all chuncks, thus assuring that your platform as a whole stays online during this process. YADT also provides a way to collaboratively administer a huge number of hosts concurrently by many users. It provides an audit trail of who did what when on which host. (2012-03-01) The new yadtshell (fka yadt-server) is available, allowing parallel execution of commands. (2012-01-31) Uploaded the source RPM for the yadt.config-maker to make installations easier. See Downloads (2011-11-22) Check out our Velocity Slides (2011-11-08) We are presenting YADT and the config RPMs at the Velocity Europe 2011 conference in our Be Fast Or Stay Behind - Building A Continuous Delivery Platform talk. This is the first public announcement of YADT and we also released a Demo System for YADT that allows easy evaluation of YADT and RPM deployment and config RPMs without installing everything from scratch. (2011-07-27) The new versions of both yadt-server and yadt-client are there! The refactoring of the python code already started, resulting in an own yadt-package (and a python2.6 dependency). Still missing are the cough documentation and examples. (2011-06-28) The initial version of the yadt-server is online. The documentation, some brilliant examples and the client part will arrive in the next couple of days, so stay tuned. (2011-05-19) The configuration management part (SVN and RPM) is now released in the config-rpm repository. Take also a look at the talk Configuration Management with Subversion and RPM I held at the Subversion Day Berlin 2011. (2011-04) We are currently reworking our software and removing internal references and hard-coded configurations prior to releasing it here. Please contact us if you are interested. YADT will be released over the next few month. |
