The XBee Internet Gateway is a powerful Python program for the Digi ConnectPort X series of RF-to-IP gateways which allows XBee end devices to access the Internet resources such as web pages. Check out the cool Networked On-air Light that Make Magazine created!

The project was initiated by Rob Faludi at ITP; implemented by Jordan Husney http://jordan.husney.com and Ted Hayes http://log.liminastudio.com.

Rob Faludi's book Building Wireless Sensor Networks features an entire chapter covering the XIG and ConnectPort in detail, including a complete example project that you can build to get started.
