Xerte 2.x

Welcome to the open source area for the Xerte Project. Xerte 2.5 is released as open-source software under the GNU Public License to benefit the wider e-learning developer community. Here you can find the source code repository and all the information you need to begin contributing to the project.

Xerte 2.5 represents a significant milestone in the software's development. We have a robust application, a growing community of users and developers, and the software is in use all over the world. This repository hosts it's source code.

Xerte Online Toolkits is a suite of browser based tools for content authors to use to develop interactive content with no programming required. Toolkits can be extended by developers using Xerte or Flash. Source code can be found at http://code.google.com/p/xerteonlinetoolkits

Xerte 3.0 is an all new version of Xerte written in ActionScript 3.0 currently available in abeta version. Source code can be found at http://code.google.com/p/xerte3. An installer can be downloaded from http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/xerte/downloads/xerte3beta.exe.

Xpert is a repository of open educational learning resources made freely available for sharing and reuse from a variety of institutions around the world. Source code for Xpert can be found at http://code.google.com/p/xpertrepository

The Xerte Project is managed and led by Julian Tenney of the IS Learning Team at The University of Nottingham. Patrick Lockley looks after the web development of Xerte Online Toolkits. Andy Beggan is the project's sponsor.
