Installation InstructionsPlease follow the instructions below carefully: - Download the zip package from the downloads section
- Unzip the package into your XBMC script folder. During the intallation of XBMC you were asked to choose if you wish to store your data in your user's folder or program files. based on this you'll need to locate your scripts folder.
- If you chose to use program files, then usually it can be found at c:\program files\xbmc\scripts. If you chose to use the user's data folder, please see below.
- Windows XP (User's data folder): c:\documents and settings\<YOUR USERNAME>\application data\xbmc\scripts
- Windows Vista/7 (User's data folder): c:\users\<YOUR USERNAME>\appdata\roaming\xbmc\scripts
- Once everything is unzipped, navigate within your XBMC to the scripts page and open the script's settings page.
- It's important that you make sure the settings are to your liking before running the script for the first time
- If you choose to use OAuth (recommended) for your authentication with Twitter, the script will ask you to enter the Twitter PIN number on the first execution. You just need to run the script.
- Skin integration: for more information on how to integrate xbtweet to your skin, please click here.
XBOX and Linux usersDue to some limitations with the browsing capabilities of your stations and xbmc's embedded python version, you may experience issues with obtaining a PIN code from Twitter. In order to workaround this I created the following page, after you'll complete the OAuth process, please input the PIN into your xbtweet dialog when prompted. Current Development StageI've reached a point where I believe xbtweet is a stable script that provides outgoing Twitter notifications. It covers most basic features and I now moved on to further development based on request. Therefore, if you think that more can be done and you want to suggest more features, please forward your comments to: itay.weinberger@gmail.com
