This doc is for WordPress administrators who wishes to install the plugin on their blogs. Installation and configuration- Go to http://www.google.com/friendconnect/ and signup for your site if you haven't already. Continue until you finish the wizard and get your site ID. Save this number, will be required later.

- Download the plugin here
- Login to WordPress as administrator and go to Plugins > Add New
- In the "Install Plugins" section select the "Upload" option form the top menu and upload the previously downloaded zip file
- In the plugins list, look for the newly installed plugin and activate it by clicking the Activate link
- Notice that a new section labeled "FriendConnect" appears within the "Settings" section at the bottom of the left menu.
- Click the option "FriendConnect" and enter your site id (see step 1), and save.
SettingsCommentsIf you leave the Enable Google Friend Connect Comments: option unchecked, the users will be able to login to your site using their external account, and leave comments using the regular Worpress comments mechanism.
Otherwise, if you choose to enable Google Friend Connect Comments, the WordPress comments mechanism is replaced by the friendConnect Comments Gadget.
Now if you choose to override WordPress comments mechanism, this is how the comments look like.
You can customize the gadget size and color to fit your current theme styling at the administrator panel > settings > friendConnect
In this section you can set the width, number of comments per page, the comments section header, with the option to include the current post title by adding [post_title] this works as a place holder for the post title.
Below, you can find the color scheme to be applied to Google Friend Connect gadgets.
Not all colors are used at the comments gadget, but later in this document you will find how to add more Friend Connect gadgets to your site.
Social BarTo enable FC Social bar, just click the option at Settings > FriendConnect
You can choose to place the bar at the top or bottom of the site.
Optional social gadgetsThis plugin provide a set of social gadgets such as:
- Members Gadget
- Recommendations gadget
- Site wide comments gadget
To add these gadgets, just go to the Widgets section of the administrator panel and drag the widgets to the desired sidebar.
Each gadget has its own configuration parameters accessible via standard WordPress mechanisms.

RecommendationsApart from adding this widget to a sidebar, you need to enable the recommendation button from settings > FriendConnect
Site wide commentsThis widget allows your visitors to make comments not necessarily associated with a particular post.
NewsletterThis widget allows your visitors to suscribe to your newsletter mailing lists, for more details, visit Google Friend Connect.
PollsThis widget gets you to know your members by asking them questions. See Google Friend Connect
Featured ContentUsing Google site search, this gadget will automatically display content that matches the interests expressed by your site's visitors.
- Enter widget administration section and and click the config link for the adsense widget
- Link your adsense account with your friendconnect account if you haven't already.
- Now skip step 2 and go to step 3 and generate the code.
- From the generated code, copy the values to the drupal config as shown in the picture below

Is there a PHP code for this? My theme doesn't support widgets.
This plugin made the sidebar & footer disappear. I uninstalled it.
WP v2.8.6 Theme: tried with default, This Just In! 3.4, Atahualpa 3.4.4
