Installing
Wordmobi installation
Installing wordmobiWordmobi and Python must be installed in memory phone. This is the only use case tested and users arere reporting problems when Python is not installed on memory phone. First install Python for your S60 mobile phone. I tested the current version with S60 3rd and 5th edition phones (E71 and XM 5800), using PythonForS60 1.4.5 and PythonForS60 1.9.5. After, install Wordmobi 0.8.1 for Python 1.4.5 or Wordmobi 0.8.1 for Python 1.9.5. There are requirements for Wordpress as well. Comments will work only with Wordpress 2.6.2 or newer. Wordmobi saves all relevant data in memory card. So, do not forget to insert one (drive e:\ is required). The following directories are used:
SetupBefore using wordmobi, please setup your blog account, user details, proxy (if any) and access point. Proxy is supported, even if using authentication. If your access point is not listed, please, save it to your connections before starting wordmobi. Wordmobi was designed to support any domain running wordpress with compatible XMLRPC API. Just set your blog address (for instance, http://www.mydomain.com or http://myblog.wordpress.com). If you have your blog running inside some subdirectory, like /my/blog, use http://www.mydomain.com/my/blog. Do not put any trailing slash and do not put xmlrpc.php at the end (they are automatically removed and just added when accessing your blog). However, if your blog has a customized URL for XMLRPC API (not ending with xmlrpc.php), this URL will not be replaced. Just fill the blog address with you customized URL, including the php file name. Usernames are case sensitive for wordpress, so take care when typing your username. Check if all fields does not have any trailer space. Also enable installation of any application in your mobile phone, not only the certificated ones. In Settings->Applications->App. Manager allow all applications and disable certification checks. It is necessary to activate xmlrpc support in wordpress for people running blogs in their own domains. Check http://blogname/wp-admin/options-writing.php for enabling it. See this link and this. Blog running in wordpress domains have this already set.

Mon téléphone ne veut pas importer les catégories ni les posts... Alors que j'ai tout réglé comme s'est demandé.
Hi there! For N95-3 Wordmobi for Python 1.4.5 must be installed in memory phone too. Regards!
I tested the new version of Wordmobi this night. Neither the "correct" combination of Wordmobi and Python nor mixing versions works on Nokia E61 (software revision 3.0633).
Using the non-Python-1.9.1-version the handset seems to load something (just wallpaper, no messages - 99% sure it's Python) and after a few seconds I am back in the menu.
The new version loads a few seconds (same as old version but much faster) then says "Python runtime missing" and exits to the menu.
Any idea what is going wrong?
I have a Wordpress 2.0.11 with my domain and I'm using with Nokia N95-3 I can syncronize the post but only from 2009 until here it's ok, but i get this error:
Impossible to retrive categories list.
Any suggest?
Gutie, please use wordpress 2.6.2 or newer.
To be honest, no. Suggestion: Remove any python interpreter. They are not showed in installatio menu, use the application manager. Remove e:\wordmobi directory. Install python 1.4.5 and wormobi in the memory phone.
After downloading 1.9.2 for S60 3rdFP2 , installed in e: , and wordmobie 0.60 in phone memory, just a flash, nothing... Tested in N79 (049 OS)
Some users are reporting that you need to install python in phone memory as well. Could you try it ?
Successsss,,, EVERYTHING must be install in phone memory. Tested on Nokia N79. Thank you.
Instalei o Python 1.4.5 > Sucesso Instalei o Wordmobi 0.6.0 for Python 1.4.5 > ERRO de certificado. Contacte o fornecedor da aplicação! Nokia E65
xi, nelio. Você deixou habilitado a instalação de qualquer aplicativo, sem assinatura, né ?
FYI: Nokia E71 works with Python 1.4.5 and Wordmobi 0.6.0
It even works with Vodafone Live! if you correctly setup your proxy.
Laterd edit: I started to use it and it is great. Thanks for this beautiful app. Will translate into Romanian soon.
Romanian ? Great ! Just waiting your locations ! Thanks !
Yup, already half-way there. Will be done by Monday. I have to test it first, then I will send it to you. No thanks required, thank you for this beautiful app! There are a lot of Nokia users in Romania and even a greater bunch with blogs, this will definitely help them. Will do some marketing on the blogs also to get this to them.
Cheers!
This is truly one of the nicest apps to use on my E71. It's incredibly feature-rich. Thank you so much.
Thanks, tom ! Thanks for your kind words! :)
Hi, installed WordMobi? on my e71. Tests worked very good. Thx for this app.
Not working on my domain blog. tested a wordpress domain blog, and worked just fine. did all the things in the basic setup... should i write some kind of code in xmlrpc.php or just put my blog url like http://matr3o.com/xmlrpc.php ?
please, use just the blog address, I mean, remove "/xmlrpc.php". Bye
I use it on Nokia E90. work well but only 1.4.5 version not 1.9.2. I have question thou, is there any way to access blog that in secured folder? I have personal journal in wordpress that I put in secured folder so if it access thru browser will asked username and password first before can access the folder.
That's why wordmobi can't access xmlrpc. Is there a way to solve it?
Big thanks.
Hi Sukarto
Do you mean something like basic authentication in http ?
hi, I've successfully installed python 1.4.5 on my nokia e61 but when i tried to install wordmobi 0.7.0 it said 'certification error'.. what should i do now?
thanks..
Enable installation of any application in your mobile phone, not only the certificated ones. In Settings->Applications->App. Manager allow all applications and disable certification checks.
doesn't work on N95 with python 1.9.4, keep insisting python runtime and PIPS Library are not installed, but they are there in application manager (installed to phone memory)
No support for 1.9.4 yet, please use 1.4.5
hi there, I just installed the Python for S60 1.9.2 and then the appropriate version of wordmobi, but when I installed wordmobi it said that Python runtine component was missing, even tough it was succesfully installed.
and now, when I try to run it complains about not having python runtine and PIPS library, just like m...@myar.se up there...
I guess I found the problem. even tough your link says "Python 1.9.2", the file being downloaded is the 1.9.1... right? could this be the problem?
Yes, you are right. Sorry for this mistyping.I am trying to use python 1.9.4 but having problems yet. 1.4.5 works fine as well.
Works OK with Python 1.4.5 in Nokia 5800 but fails with Python 1.9.X: ImportError?: No module named wordmobi
Python 1.9.5 and WM 0.8.1 (for 1.9.5) installed in the phone card should work for XM 5800 (this is my test setup). Python 1.4.5 is not valid for XM 5800.
