RTN - Router reboots when copying large files on an external hdd via samba or ftp #196

Copy link

Plug the external HDD (ext3) with large (~200-500) files into USB.
Enable samba or ftp protocol in router web-intarface.
Copy files via samba or ftp.

Router reboots..

This bug appeared in version 2508 and is present in version 2524

In the 2507 version, this bug absent.

Problem may be due to changed memory allocator from SLUB to SLAB, but we still 
can't neither reproduce symptoms, nor got kernel Oops text from someone.

Note: oops occurs when copying files from a connected to the router usb drive 
to   computer via LAN or wi-fi.
