Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)#1 Why did you build Witty?I started Witty for several reasons. First, to hone my technical and design skills with WPF. Secondly, to create a kickass Twitter client for Windows. And last but not least, to share with the community on how to build desktop applications with WPF. There are several twitter clients done with Adobe AIR. Why not make one available in WPF? #2 What did you use to build Witty?Witty was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Blend. Witty is programmed in C#. #3 How often does the recent timeline refresh?Currently the refresh interval is set to 2 minutes. Should Witty work on XP?
From your source it looks like the project is build for VS 2008 now. Is that correct?

Yes. Witty should work on XP. Yes. We are using VS2008 to work with Witty.
How to just post to twitter? Why do I have to choose "To"?
I could not install Witty Twitter 0.1.8 Beta 1 (Witty_0.8.5_Installer.exe, hello?) until I installed Microsoft's .NET Framework 3.5.
Just in case anyone else has the same problem.
Installed v1.9. All the features seem to work, except for seeing 'everyones' tweets. Or is that not a feature?
What are you using for the spellchecker? Can I add words to the dictionary?
The spell checker is provided by WPF's text box, which is pretty cool (it's nice that you can turn on spell checking with a simple boolean), but currently there does not appear to be any way to add words to the dictionary that WPF uses.
Why did you choose to host on GoogleCode? instead of CodePlex??
Why are admin rights needed to install Witty?
Any plan to add support for other competing micro-blogs like Identi.ca? Or better yet, open it up so you can choose/add multiple microblog accounts?

How do I shrink a URL in my message? I see it in the "Options" but cannot figure out any way to actually use it.

After you type too many characters into an 'Update' the syntax becomes something only a Klingon could understand. If I have 1 too many characters the label which is counting characters shows "2:62". What's that all about? Are we supposed to derive meaning from this cryptic syntax?
Witty on my Vista 64 machine has a size of 114MB private and 806MB virtual according to Sysinternals - isn't that a bit steep?!

Is there a way to switch off cleartype font? I don't use it in my XP, but Witty does and I don't like it at all.
