Shortly about WicketCool

Wicket Cool is a tool, sort of framework, for fast and fun web applications development. It combines Wicket with Spring and JPA (Hibernate), adds good practices (patterns, code styles) and a command line tool that enables fast development.

How to start using WicketCool?

Simply download it, install on your computer (you will find installation instructions inside zip file). Once installed it can be used instantly. Open your command line, type "wcl generate". Answer few asked questions: groupId (your organization name), artifactId (your project name), version (version of your application) and main package name. After that, in few moments you will get Wicket (+Spring+JPA) maven project. Go inside the project, and type "wcl info" to get started. To see all currently available plugins type "wcl info list plugins".

Known limitations

Remember that WicketCool is still underdevelopment, thus its plugin functionality is still restricted. However wctemplate-archetype (a.k.a project generated by "wcl generate") is really close to it's 1.0.0 (first, stable release) and can be now used in development.

1. Package name

Currently when creating project with wicketcool ("wcl generate"), name your package without dots in it. So name it coolproject, not com.company.coolproject. This are actually limitations of maven archetype:create-from-project and archetpye:generate. Right now I don't know how to deal with those issues.
