What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. download the follwing dictionary http://downloads.sourceforge.net/stardict/stardict-ldaf- 2.4.2.tar.bz2 2. extract the idx and dict files 3. upload them to WeDict What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The dictionary is recognised and added to the list of available dictionaries but looking up for words only show results from the included dictionaries and not from the uploaded dictionaries. With the example of the german dictionary, try for example the word "Wort" (word). You get answers for the English and Chinese dictionaries. No results with the German dictionary. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? WeDict Pro 1.2 Please provide any additional information below. |

1.Download http://downloads.sourceforge.net/stardict/stardict-ldaf- 2.4.2.tar.bz2 2.Extract the files. 3. Rename ldaf.dict.dz to ldaf.dict.gz. then unzip the file again to get dict file. (For win, use 7-zip http://www.7- zip.org/) 4.Upload dict and idx to wedict prol |

Exactly the same problem occurs in wedict pro 1.5 on iPhone OS 3.0 Only certain dictionaries are affected: in my case stardict-ldaf (as above) and also stardict English Thesaurus. (upload-procedure for dict and idx was followed exactly as described) |

It seems I was able to identify the cause to this issue: All dictionaries affected had differing dict and idx file names. The zipped stardict-files unzipped for some reason to files with differing names before the ending dict and idx. To avoid the problem, just rename the files before uploading them via FTP (or SSH or iPhoneBrowser in JB phones). For example: In case of the above mentioned ldaf the extracted files are: LDaF.pdb.tab.utf.dict and ldaf.idx They must become: ldaf.dict ldaf.idx or some other identical name. (Tip: Name the files in a the way you want them to appear in wedict pro, so you won't have to rename them withiin the app.) |
