Introduction

WebAPP was created in 2001 by Carter Brown, who founded the Web-APP Community and led early development of the WebAPP Web Automated Perl Portal system. The original code base was a script named PoaS (Perl on all Site) by Luckie Aria Argathama, which was in turn based on YaWPS (Yet another Web Portal System) by Adrian Heissler.

Over the years, WebAPP has evolved into a full-featured, well-rounded basic portal system and has been blessed with the creation of many creative and useful mods, plugins, and other add-ons or modifications.

Now in this day, WebAPP development continues to maintain its traditional simplicity in coding style and to carry on its freedom as an Open Source project.

We hope to make use of WebAPP's Google Code Project area as a new beginning at laying out some organization for the WebAPP project and its future.
