Description

comment2tweet is a WordPress plugin which will automatically post new comments from a WordPress blog to a twitter account. The comment posted to twitter will be an excerpt 140 characters long, and includes a short url link back to the comment.

Installation

Installing comment2tweet plugin is a simple process:

  1. Upload comment2tweet directory to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
  3. Go to Settings>comment2tweet and setup your twitter username and password
  4. That's it, from here on new comments to your blog will be posted to your twitter account instantaneously.

Requires: PHP 5 >= 5.2.0

That's pretty cool. I can see some really good uses for it but it could also become overkill on some blogs. A couple months ago, I wrote the Retweet plugin so your readers can Retweet your post to their friends.

I'm glad to see more integration of posts and tweets because I find myself following more links in Twitter than any other form of discovery of new links, posts, news, etc.

Gives me the following error in the settings page

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: json_decode() in /home/private/public_html/wp-content/plugins/comment2tweet/comment2tweet.php on line 151

I use this plugin for ages and it worked always great and without a glitch. Now it stopped working on 2nd of September 2010. After that, no comments are brought over to Twitter anymore. I deactivated and reactivated, but to no avail. I used Version 0.4 on Wordpress 3.x No changes on my websites for a couple of months. Is there any workaround? Thanks!!!
