Summary- The project aims to create virtual reality interface for computer applications by replacing the 2d GUI with 3d Virtual world (Interface) it will be full, user-friendly because it's applications seems like the Real-world.
- It will be under GPL so that it will take the advantages of Free Software technologies and feel free to use and contribute.
- One of it's goals is to move to the Next-Generation of the Computer Controling (Virtual Controllers).
Examples- Simply imagine that all of the applications you are using now will change to the look of the real world objects.
- It's open to you to think of the applications because we aim to simulate the real world in virtual world.
- Reading e-book from 3d virtual book instead of reading it on window.
Road Map
This is a rough description of where we are in the Virtual Reality interface project and where we might go as a begining (first basic stage) of the project. Phase 1 (Done)
- Working with blender API and Linux API to make simple 3d file browser in Blender Engine.
Phase 2
- Developing Windowing Manager in blender to fit and ease the migration of the old 2d interface, so it will work side by side with 3d apps.
Phase 3
- Booting the Blender Engine directly as an interface with GDM.
Current statusPhase 1 (Done)- Trying to make Basic representation of the project.
- Working with blender API and Linux API to make 3d file browser in Blender.
Hardware- Motion Sensors such as Natal
We will not implement this kind of hardware until finishing the first stage of developing. For contributing send e-mail to Al.Wazery@gmail.com
