Here's a good idea, a Cheats Menu that works like the one in Snes9x GX 005,
loading .clt files from vbagx/cheats. That would be a super enhancement to
this already uber app.

or better yet, add the VBA cheat system, since
it accepts GameShark

No wait, if you save in the windows vba, does it save as clt?
Anyways, is it possible to automatically import codes from GameShark.com?

Yeah, last time I checked, VBA-M allows you to save your gameshark codes as CLT.
But it would be cool to import codes from the internet.

On the issues page, is the cheats thing being developed, and thats what accepted
means, or is accepted just below started? cuz i really hope that cheats will
work
out, and soon...

If this is still being developed, the cheat function would be awesome.
Especially if
it works like snes9xgx.

FCEUX has .cht file support and Game Genie, too. It only makes sense that VBA GX
supports these files and or Gameshark codes as well. The priority should be
bumped up
to at least medium.

Even though cheats can ruin a game, I for one would love to at least be able to
use
them if I wanted to. As the line goes, "Better to have it and not need it, than
to
need it and not have it."

I know that this is a low priority, but with a lot of people wanting cheat
support,
it might be a good idea to start work on it. Over 20 comments about people
wanting
cheats just seems to be a bit obvious to me that it should be added by the next
finalization.

I was thinking 4 the cheats menu u can add it in the "game settings" part then
when u
click on that u will have a drop down menu w/ "Gameshark, Action Replay,
CodeBreaker"
and then enter the cheats!! lol Like at the top of this page in the search then
just on
the right it says "Open Issues" lol

it's a lot of people asking for this wow, if they really wanted to use cheats
they
should just use the pc-vba, and move the save to the wii. you just cant use
active
cheats like walkthrough walls, or no damage.

Guys, VBA GX for WiiBrew is what needs the cheat menu. I get this stuff takes
awhile but its been 2 years, enough is enough. We need to be able to put GS
codes manually into the menu [at the very least]. We shouldnt need our pc to
make savefiles then port them. Some of us dont have working computers to do
this.

I'm all for this, but let's not pester the developer. If he doesn't get around
to it, then he doesn't get around to it. If we keep on bugging him about this,
he might just stop updating the project entirely, and then we will have gotten
nowhere and then some.

How I got around not having cheats was using trainer patch files instead. Of
course the codes would be limited, but having an IPS file allowed for me to
enable some codes that I wanted without actually having a cheat menu. But
sadly, there isn't really many ways to make a trainer, and the only way I know
leaves the game with bad audio and possibly other problems.

Just let this be added in due time.

Original comment by Dimensio...@gmail.com on 13 Jul 2011 at 10:40

I've made a couple of trainers before, used to have a tool for windows that
would apply cheats directly to the rom itself and if wanted a menu to activate.
Ips cheats seem like possibly another way. Over all, even though a cheats menu
would seem easiest for the end user, it ultimately is the developer's choice
what they do with their time. Furthermore, even if it is a sorely needed
feature, the end user isn't in most cases, left out in the cold. Many cheats
carry over when saved and there are trainers in the like. More likely one would
need the computer to at least look up gameshark codes anyways.
